Claver Hall
The road to recovery starts here
About Us
Claver Hall is a Supported Accommodation Housing scheme run by St Anthony’s Project Ltd. We aim to enhance drug and alcohol dependency treatment outcomes, to reduce re-offending and to support people in their accommodation and through their treatment developing independent living skills.
We provide a coordinated programme of care and support provided internally and externally by the following professionals;
- Housing Support Workers
- Clinical prescribing drugs workers/doctors
- Drugs/alcohol Counsellors
- DRR Workers
- Probation Officers
- Community Psychiatric Nurses
The scheme is typically for:
- Men over the age of eighteen with a drug or alcohol dependency problem who feel they need a “supervised” and supported environment to re-engage with the community, committing to a strict treatment regime.
- Men who have been addicted to substances for 15+ years
- Those with a dual diagnosis (substance misuse with underlying mental health issues)
- Clients with a Restriction on Bail or a DRR who engage in treatment
- Those released from prison on Licence
- Those on HDC, ASBO’s, etc.
Our Mission
The main aim of the project is to provide safe accommodation that promotes positive lifestyle changes. We work to enhance treatment outcomes, reduce crime, and to encourage residents to make the most of the opportunities afforded to them by the wrap-around services and support available. Through this, they are offered the best possible chance at making significant positive lifestyle changes, with a goal to becoming independent, self-supporting and productive members of the community. We strongly believe that every person should be given the chance to make a better life for themselves and this ethos is evident in all that we do.
The property is situated in its own large grounds adjacent to the church. All the rooms are different in size and have varying facilities. This means residents can have an “upgrade” as they progress and this provides an incentive for residents to move-on when ready, moving towards a goal of unsupported accommodation and independent living. The shared living area is very spacious with a large television and comfortable seating. A large dining room is situated adjacent to the shared kitchen, allowing residents to cook and enjoy meals together as a community.
Claver Hall distinguishes its self as being a very tight-knit micro-community; with residents, staff and volunteers all developing strong therapeutic bonds. This bond is vital in helping service users to develop mutual trust and to support each other as they address the highly sensitive issues at the core of their substance misuse problems. This Claver Hall community quickly embraces new residents and makes them feel part of the “family”, which is a significant aspect of treatment due to many of them having estranged relationships with relatives or even having no contact with family at all.
Partnerships
Claver Hall is proud to work with some truly fantastic organisations, and we couldn’t do the work we do without their help and support. Some of them provide direct support through funding, donations, etc. and others provide support by offering much needed services to our residents including group therapy, prescribing and more. We are truly blessed to work with these organisations, including many others not listed here. A massive thank you to each and every one of you!
